CHA

Who are they?
The Chicago Housing Authority (CHA) is the largest owner of rental housing in the City of Chicago with approximately 9,500 apartments designated for seniors and more than 7,000 units of family housing. In addition, CHA oversees the administration of 35,000 Housing Choice Vouchers that allow low-income families to rent in the private market.

CHA is currently undergoing the Plan for Transformation, the largest and most ambitious redevelopment effort of public housing in the history of the United States. As part of the Plan, CHA will redevelop or rehabilitate its entire stock of public housing and move to improve the lives of public housing residents by providing access to jobs and education as well as social services and other supports residents may need.
 

What we do for them
MKC assist CHA shape the development of programs and activities as well as how they are communicated. MKC provides a consistent program of outreach, media activity and program development that reaches a wide variety of audiences with messages that are crafted to tell the CHA story of success and opportunity.  

MKC provides input for outreach materials, speeches, intergovernmental activity, outreach and education to partners, stewardship of stakeholders and the tenants themselves. MKC implements general and audience-specific strategies that are integrated and used as the core messages. These messages are imparted through a broad range of communications activity, including but not limited to media activity.
